It's the home stretch for California Proposition 8 which would amend the state constitution to discriminate against same-sex couples like me. The yes on 8 folks have effective and attention getting ads on TV with misleading statements that have not been directly addressed until recently. Finally, the No on 8 campaign has begun to reply to these lies with their own ads. Please donate to help promote equality for all. Companies like Apple and Google as well as major Republican politicians like Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, and major newspapers all oppose Prop. 8. The major backers of Prop. 8 are people who are opposed to same-sex marriage based on religious grounds. Even though they share the same word, religious marriage and civil marriage are two different things. Each religion can and does have their own rules for marriage. In government, marriage is a legal civil contract and one that is important for all citizens regardless of religion or lack there of.
